#017 – Mt. Xiangyang 向陽山 – 3,603m

The easiest and most common way for hikers to reach Mt. Xiangyang (向陽山) is via the famous Jiaming Lake Route (嘉明湖).

Most hikers will reach the fork to this peak and climb up and down it in an hour before spending two nights at the Jiaming Lake Cabin.

Once at the lake, hikers normally return to the cabin but also have the option to proceed on to the longer Xinkang Traverse (新康橫斷) and South Second Section (南二段).

For hikers who are tired on the first day, they also have the option to hike up and down the relatively short trail to this peak on their way down the mountain on their last day.
