Located on the South Second Section of the Central Mountain Range, “Cloud Peak” (Yun Feng (雲峰) is traditionally done as a small side peak towards the end of the third day.
Once a hiker leaves the main trail, they will be required to traverse horizontally across the side of a small knife blade ridge, before making a semi-steep ascent up to this peak, which (in good weather) provides panoramic 360 degree peaks of Yushan National Park and the rest of the route that is yet to come. Exhausted hikers can opt to skip this peak and simply pass on to save time, but we don’t recommend doing this.
