#036 – Hehuan East Peak 合歡東峰 – 3,419m

One of the shortest of the Hehuan Peaks, Hehuan East Peak (合歡東峰) is located at the top of a short, simple trail and is one of the most famous peaks for viewing alpine flowers in Taiwan.

Located just behind Songxue Lodge (松雪樓), the trail up to East Peak involves hiking up a series of stairs and well worn paths.

Hikers going up to this peak will also have a chance to observe the defunct ski lift, which was in service back in the 1970’s when Taiwan still got enough snow to operate a ski resort in the Hehuanshan area.
