#062 – Mt. Nenggao 能高主山 – 3261m

Mt. Nenggao (能高主山) is 3261m high and is located on the North Third Section of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range (北三段), also known as the Nenggao Andongjun Route (能高安東軍). This route is typically done in north-to-south over five days, with this peak being summited towards the end of the second day.

Hikers will spend their first night at the famous Tianchi Cabin, one of the most developed and luxurious cabins in Taiwan.

Here, hikers will spend a crowded first night mingling with the locals and sampling local Taiwanese mountain food (likely prepared by aboriginals), before going to sleep in their tent or bunk space (depending on their permit).

Hikers will climb this peak on the second day and spend the second night an hour past this peak at Dalu Pond (大陸池), one of several large ponds on the route, and the largest pond in the area.
