Located just north of the southern terminus of the Wuling Quadruple/Wuling Sixiu (武陵四秀) route, Mt. Kalaye (喀拉業山) is actually a side peak that is typically done on the second day, starting and finishing from the Mt. Tao Cabin (桃山山屋).
WHile the trial to, and peak of, Mt. Kalaye (喀拉業山) aren’t terribly spectacular, it would be a shame to “only do 3 of the 4 shows” on this route. The route to/from this peak isn’t terribly long, difficult, or dangerous, and is an adventure in and of itself.
Once back at the cabin, hikers will need to continue west to Mt. Chiyou (池有山) before spending there second night at Xinda Cabin (新達山屋).
It’s also worth noting that the Wuling Quadruple/Wuling Sixiu (武陵四秀) Route can be included as part of the much longer, and much more difficult The Holy RIdge (聖稜) Route, which you can find more information about here.
