Located in the deep jungles of Shimen District of New Taipei City is Laomei River, an area often referred to as Dream Valley. Join this guided small group river trace and explore the beautiful canyons, cascading waterfalls and deep river pools of a lesser known area of New Taipei City. On this tour, guests will experience the combination of mountaineering, rock climbing and stream climbing; a true outdoor adventure. This tour is conducted year-round. During the Autumn and Winter months, guests can enjoy the red maple trees along this river while tours conducted in the Summer months will provide guests with a retreat from the hot summer temperatures.

Trip Overview
On this tour, guests will experience the combination of mountaineering, rock climbing and stream climbing; a true outdoor adventure. This tour is conducted year-round. During the Autumn and Winter months, guests can enjoy the red maple trees along this river while tours conducted in the Summer months will provide guests with a retreat from the hot summer temperatures.
Follow the path through this outdoor paradise by stepping on the stones to find the traces of the river. Every step is a novel experience. Spot fish swimming in the water, listening to frogs and cicadas, feeling the breeze caressing the treetops.
For those wishing for an extra little thrill, the coach will provide an optional experience of jumping into the river at a safe and predetermined area.

🔎 Activity Participants: This tour is suitable for any aged 9 years old and older. For those guests under 13 years old, they must be accompanied by a parent. A parent can accompany a maximum of two people under the age of 13. A maximum of 4 guests can join this tour.

⚠️ PICK-UP / DROP-OFF LOCATION: The pick-up location for this tour will be Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station Exit 1. Guests will be dropped off at the end of the tour at Taipei Main Station.
⚠️GUIDE: In addition to providing an amazing outdoor experience, our parnters have the responsibility for guest safety and well-being. The guides on these outdoor activities will monitor the group’s fitness levels and health throughout the tour. In the event of poor weather or if any guests are struggling from poor fitness or adverse conditions, they reserve the right to alter the tour itinerary and/or cancel the ascent. We thank you for your understanding as we believe guests’ safety is of the utmost importance. Once guests have booked and paid, they will be connected with the tour guide through a WhatsApp or LINE group.
⚠️ MEALS AND DRINKS: Lunch is included in the tour price. Each guest is provided with a simple Rice Ball lunch on this tour. If guests wish to bring additional snacks and lunch, this is their responsibilities. Water is not provided by tour guide and is also the reponsibilities of the guest.
⚠️ GROUP SIZE: This small river tracing trip is limited to 6 guests. If we are unable to secure 2 guests for this trip, we reserve the right to cancel this trip with advanced notice and full refunds provided to any guests who have already paid. Thank you for understanding.
⚠️ PACKING LIST AND TOUR QUESTIONS: When a guest registers for a Taiwan Outdoors Tour, they will receive a complete packing list and trip FAQ digital package through email. Taiwan Outdoors staff will be available to provide additional support to guests between registration and tour dates.
⚠️ CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS: In the event a guest books and cancels a trip, guests will incur standard cancelation fees as outlined in the Terms and Conditions detailed in the on the booking page.
